Having received a deep calling of God to serve our community in practical ways, our mission has unfolded in various directions. The Open Door Centre provides avenues to bless the community; one such amenity is the Café Rose, which serves good cuisine and provides a warm atmosphere to all who enter. The staff includes many members of the church who volunteer their time and are always ready to share their faith with customers.
The elderly have a special place in our mission as well. The Pensioner's Club allows pensioners from varied backgrounds and faith to come together and enjoy fellowship. Outreach is accomplished with pastoral visits, evangelising within the different sectors of the community, youth ministries involving the Church's youth, and the community at large. In addition, there is an outreach within the schools.
Congregational meetings allow the ministerial staff to share the Word at different intervals, therefore building a well-rounded message. Praise and worship are a vital part of our foundation and a healthy balance between Word and Spirit has been established and maintained.
In the early days before Pastor Trevor knew of the Saviour's love. Pastor Sandra had already met the Lord, so his curiosity was ignited. How could he know this Holy Spirit his wife was speaking of? Even though he openly determined never to walk in the way of the Spirit, he was drawn to the foot of the Cross and received Christ's salvation in his life.
Pastor Clarke is the visionary and founder of the Carrickfergus
Community Church, Sunnylands. Studying at Kerygma Bible College,
Norwich
in 1990, he was ordained by the Gospel Outreach
Federation of Ministers and received his Bachelor of Divinity shortly
afterwards. Since 2002 Carrickfergus Community Church has been affiliated with
International Gospel Outreach network of Churches, worldwide. He is currently in
his second year of serving as the Mayor’s Chaplain.
Coming to Carrickfergus in February 1992 and looking to the Lord for the fulfilment of the vision spoken by the Lord, they have Pastored Carrickfergus Community Church ever since. However they have also worked side by side for twenty-one years overseeing different youth groups and home groups as well as pastoring in a Christian centre before coming to Carrickfergus. Intercession, study of God's Word, listening for His voice and obeying the directives of the Lord have created a foundation that is firm and will endure. Pastor Trevor has a heart that seeks after the Lord and desires to hear and obey His voice.
Coupled with a passion for the lost and deep sense of vision, Pastor Trevor enhances his mission with a hardy sense of humour. Mentoring has become an important avenue to pass on to the next generation that which he has learned. Being a father in Christ to the younger men and women, and seeking after the heavenly Father's heart for himself, Pastor Trevor's vision for discipleship is firmly fixed on the Fatherhood through words of wisdom coupled with much prayer, opening the avenue to pass to the next generation what God has birthed in his spirit.
Pastor Trevor has ministered in the United States, Spain, and of course Northern and Southern Ireland; he has also preached in Africa, and India. He is open to the Lord's leading and knows the apostolic call on his life to preach, teach and declare through God's written word and preaching.

Pastor Sandra and Pastor Trevor were married in August 1969. They have three children: Lynn is the Senior Youth Pastor, with two children of her own (Sophie and Thomas) who fill their grandparents with joy. Gillian is married to David and they have a son called Caleb and are expecting their second baby. James who is the Team Leader is the Music Ministry Team & is also the drummer in the music team. James and his fiancée Holly will be married in the middle of 2007. The family works together at many places in the ministry. Ordained by International Gospel Outreach Federation of Ministers. Pastor Sandra is a woman of prayer and a devout student of God’s Word, which she presents in a very encouraging way through ministering and living the life. Her mission also involves serving her husband with loyalty, reverence and much insight. There is a deep sense of mutual respect and honour between her husband and herself. Her hand reaches out to whomever the Lord brings her way; she too is engaged in mission to touch the community through service. She leads the pensioner's outreach, allowing many to come and be blessed in fellowship. She is engaged in much counselling in the community. She intercedes for God to bring wholeness to the land. The Lord has given her much insight in helping families who have been torn apart by abuse; her intercession, ability to wait on the Lord and wisdom to lean on Him for His direction has set many people free. Within in the Prayer Clinic that the Church holds once a week she is used by God in deliverance and inner healing, and once again she has seen God set many people free. Praise the Lord. The Lord has called her to minister to women and set them free to serve HIM. She speaks at ladies' meetings on the importance of reaching their full potential in Christ while still respecting their husbands and pastors. She has seen many women come out of the shadows and into the light of all that God has intended for them. |
We are very intent in following His command in the great commission. His Word bids us to press on to His high calling, starting first in our Jerusalem, then in His Judea and Samaria and the uttermost parts of the earth. We look forward to the different directions he will lead us in the coming years. We are asking the Father that His will be done and praying for the increase with the ability to accomplish His will.
His harvest is inevitable; His Word is true and He is faithful to His Word. Therefore, we have been beseeching Him, the God of the harvest, for labourers to come and work in this field He has given.
We have chosen to be faithful in whatever He asks and wherever He sends. We are looking to Him for the fulfilment of what he has spoken.
Our hearts have been rewarded and encouraged with the people He has brought across our path. Some of these are now in full- or part-time ministry.
We look forward in anticipation for all that is unfolding in our lives and in the Body of Christ. We are marching forward with passion as the harvest He promised begins to unfold.
We pray that you will be blessed with His intimate presence, and also pray that God would give the Body a heart to join together and walk in unity, so that His perfect will can be accomplished. May He reward your prayers and service with His resurrection power to accomplish all that He has called you to. May God bless you as you minister to Him...
We remain fellow servants in Christ
