Student Information

Opendoor Bible School is located within the Opendoor centre at the junction of Bridewell Drive and Sunnylands Avenue in Carrickfergus.  Facilities there include a restaurant, two smaller meeting rooms and the Shekinah Room which seats up to 75 people.

The eXtreme Life code of conduct must be adhered to by all students:-

Dress code  All students must wear smart clothing to classes.

Males –  shirt, tie and dress trousers are expected, no denim, no trainers or casual shoes.

Females – dress trousers or skirts below knee length, blouses or smart tops are expected, no low cut necklines or short length tops, no low rise trousers, no denim, no trainers or casual shoes. Skirts will be required when in ministry.  After class, students may wear casual clothes within the boundaries of modesty.

Mobile phones All mobiles must be switched off and remain out of sight during prayer, worship and teaching sessions. There is a pay phone on the premises for emergency calls to be received. Students are permitted to use mobiles during afternoon sessions within reason.

Behaviour  Swearing, crude joking, offensive conversations etc are not acceptable during eXtreme Life. Students must not be in a relationship with a non Christian partner or be sexually active with any partner outside of marriage. Abstinence from smoking, alcohol and addictive drugs is required during eXtreme Life.

Failure to comply with the code of conduct will result in disciplinary procedures being administered and if continued, the student will be asked to leave the team.

The code of conduct is very much part of our discipleship programme and we believe as is stated in Matthew 12:34, "out of the overflow of heart, the mouth speaks”. Our actions reflect the state of our hearts so if we learn to discipline our bodies, we will have greater power to discipline our hearts.  “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up.” James 4:10

Personal needs

- Every student is responsible for their own transport to and from the Opendoor Centre every day.

- Every student should bring with them to class a New King James Bible, notebook and pens. Clipboards will be provided.

- Every student is responsible for his or her own lunch. There is a café on site on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays where affordable food is available for purchase.  Packed lunches are acceptable.  Tea and coffee making facilities are available to students all day at no charge.

Finances  The cost for the year out is £500 which may be paid in ten monthly installments of £50 at the beginning of each month. Students may have a part time job that doesn’t interfere with the daily programme.  Fees help provide media teachings, love gifts to Guest Ministry and administration costs.
